AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Cyx continues his argument in favour of building a theatre in Sydney. (See also his letter of 8 September 1826.) He concludes: 'Were I the Governor of this colony, I should think it a moral duty to forward the establishment of a theatre, to patronize its legitimate character, but to restrain its abuse'.
