The Pearl of Deadman's Bluff, Patrick Vaux , single work short story adventure
An English captain whose wife and child have disappeared tracks down the suspected villain in pursuit of a fabulous 'conch pearl.' At the end of a lethal brawl a girl he takes for the villain's daughter saves him by stunning one atrtacker with a lump of coral. Rescued and taken back aboard by his first mate, he finds the girl and the pearl are one and the same and also his own daughter.
