Royal Victoria Theatre : Valsha &c., single work advertisement

Advertisement for performance at the Royal Victoria Theatre, Sydney, on 15 December 1838 of the 'favourite Drama of Mabel's Curse' and the 'Romantic Drama, called Valsha'. The performance also included the song 'The Rover' performed by Mr [Arthur] Falchon.

Prospectus : Sydney Chronicle, and New South Wales Advertiser, single work advertisement

A prospectus for a proposed new weekly newspaper to begin 'at the commencement of the new year [1839]'. A newspaper under this title seems not to have been published in Sydney. Announcements on the transfer of Bent's News and New South Wales Advertiser from Hobart Town to Sydney, published in Sydney newspapers at this time, may have decided the sponsors against the introduction of a new newspaper.
