This piece of passionate prose makes a plea for the 'youngest nation' and 'oldest land on earth' to 'realize with sympathy the existence of life in nature other than our own'; to 'preserve the quaint denizens of our forests'; and to be mindful of the detrimental effects of the 'extermination' of the native marsupials.
(p. 88-91)
