Notes

  • A brief biographical item on Bernard Archer, who was then living at the Ardoyne Red Cross Home for returned servicemen at Chelmer, in Brisbane. At the time, Archer had just completed the manuscript of a second book of poems (it included an introduction by General Sir John Monash), which had evidently been forwarded to a publisher in London. However the manuscript appears to have remained unpublished. In 1930 the Brisbane Courier published a number of poems from Archer's manuscript.
