Nineteen-year-old Dick Bradshaw (Skip) is a schoonerman in the island trades. He and his crew depart Sydney, visit the South Pacific and learn about its colonial history, solve the mystery of the murder of Skip's father, and foil gold thieves with the aid of an undercover secret service agent.
