When Monty Harding's father buys Cedar Glen station, bad luck befalls him. Monty returns home from boarding school and sets to work to put things right. Although Monty has no prior experience of the Australian bush, he is assisted by his faithful 'blackboy', Snowy, to track down the gang that stole his father's stock. Monty also solves the mystery of the disappearance of a former owner of the Glen.
