In this letter from Christchurch, New Zealand (dated 8 July 1916), Leo De Chateau, the manager of Edward Branscombe's Pink Dandies Company, writes of the situation concerning conditions and levels of public moral as new Zealanders cope with the war. The letter also mentions a number of the Pink Dandies members, along with Edward Branscombe, his theatrical operations. De Chateau also makes some observations about variety performers in general.
