AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In a village in 1950s South Africa, a civil war is looming. Mr Barlow has four children: Margaret, fifteen; Robert, fourteen; Stephen, nine; and Pauline, seven. Anxious for their safety, he bundles them out of school and sends them to live with their aunt in England. But when they arrive in London and their plans unravel, events do not run smoothly and the children are soon forced to hide a secret. Convinced that there is a great story behind the arrival of the Barlow family, the editor of the local newspaper is determined to discover the truth. (Source: Libraries Australia)
