AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'A French woman-convict, with musical talents, escapes Noumea to Fiji. She is befriended by an Englishman and a Scotchman, who deceive the French naval officers. Escaping on a vessel bound for 'no-extradition' ports in South America, she and her male friends are shipwrecked and cast adrift. Rescued by a French steamer, she is brought back to Noumean prison-life, but finally escapes with the aid of her two friends, who were meantime in Raratonga.' (Miller)
