A New Colonial Poet, single work review
— Review of Lays From an Australian Lyre Austral , 1882 selected work poetry children's fiction ;
Among the earlier competitors who were successful in furnishing replies to our prize problems was Miss C. Perdriau, of Balmain, who is at present on a visit to England, where, under the nom de plume of 'Austral', she has just published a little volume of graceful verse entitled, 'Lays from an Australian Lyre', which has been favourably received in the old country. The poems are of unequal merit, although generally marked by great taste and power of poetical expression.
