AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The story of Seymour's Family Circus, a touring circus in Eastern Australia from the turn of the twentieth century, told as through the eyes of Ada Seymour.

Notes

  • Author's note: I first met Madge and Win at the Royal Melbourne Show. We became friends, and while they talked of circus life such a vivid picture of their mother grew up in my mind that when I came to tell the story of Seymour's Family Circus I found myself impelled to write it as if I were Mrs Seymour. It was almost as if she was writing the book. This left me no alternative but to use the first person throughout.
