AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A fleet of airships approach Sydney with the intention of invading Australia, but their plans are foiled by a defense-system of gigantic magnets.

Notes

  • Steampunk Note : This story can be read as proto-steampunk due to the presence of elements that would eventually become part of the steampunk style. The airships are the most immediate example, but the character of the inventor-professor has also become an archetypal feature of modern steampunk.
