When Nicky finds sixpence on his way back from the fruit shop, he has to think carefully about how to spend it. The coin has a hole in the middle, and Nicky's grandfather says that means it's a lucky sixpence. When Nicky decides to go to the zoo, strange and wonderful things happen.
