1 y separately published work icon Copyright in Scholarly Journals: Can a 'License to Publish' Resolve the Ownership Debate? Jennifer McDonald , Melbourne : 2002 Z1307754 2002 single work thesis The debate about who should own copyright in scholarly journal articles has intensified over the last few years due to opportunities presented by new technologies. Historically, copyright has been assigned to the publisher of a journal, however there are now suggestions that copyright could, and should, be left with the author. This project investigates the key players in the debate and their motivations with the aim of establishing whether a license is adequate for resolving the debate.
