BiographyHistory

The Victoria Theatres Trust is a non-profit organisation founded in 1995 by Evan Hercules and modelled on the UK Theatres Trust. The first chair was Kenneth Crompton (1995-1999). The Trusts aim was to foster knowledge and research into the history of Australian theatre and to stimulate theatre activities throughout the metropolitan and country regions. Its members included theatre professionals, scholars, and enthusiasts dedicated to documenting and sharing Australia’s unique theatre heritage. The organisation also published the quarterly newsletter On Stage.

In 2008 the Trust was renamed Theatre Heritage Australia Inc.
