Olive Lockhart migrated to Australia with her Polish-German family who settled in rural Victoria. After marrying a farmer and moving to western New South Wales, Olive was left alone during the war years to run the property and raise a family. On her husband's return, they moved to a farm near Albany, Western Australia, where Olive first began writing.
