1 An Untold War Story Sarah B. Rose , 1885 single work short story
— Appears in: The Australian Journal , May vol. 20 no. 240 1885; (p. 503-504)
US Civil War tale. A night at the theatre seeing 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' elicits the story of the day he was pursued by bloodhounds from an army colonel. Set in the South, the colonel was then very young and 'deserted' rather than face cruel punishment from an unfair officer. Unusual perspective of a war story. (PB)
