Alick Tipoti is an artist, illustrator, printmaker, and author. He was born on Waiben (Thursday Island) and grew up on Badu Island. He holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree from the Canberra School of Art, Australian National University, and has won a number of awards for his prints, which reflect his ongoing interest in the traditional stories and culture of the Torres Strait Islander people.
