BiographyHistory

Joe Salter spent most of his working life with the New South Wales Government Railways. He has been associated with the Fellowship of Australian Writers and the Modern Writers Club and he developed friendships with Miles Franklin and Ruth Park (qq.v.) through his literary activities.

Salter lived in Devonport, Tasmania in later life, but died in Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga, New South Wales.
