BiographyHistory

Also having knowledge of English and French, Najat Morsy has worked as a journalist for Arabic papers in Australia and as an editor in Melbourne for many years. Her work was read on Radio 3EA in 1982 and 1985. Her non-fictional writing includes a doctoral thesis awarded by the University of California in 1973 and titled A Comparative Study of the Disparities of Educational Opportunities for Girls in the Arab States. Her paper titled 'The Education of Women in the Arab States: Achievements and Problems, 1950-1970' was presented at the Symposium on Near Eastern Women Through the Ages, University of California, Berkeley, (1975). She has also written 'Continuity and Change in Women's Education in the Arab States', in Women and the Family in the Middle East: New Voices of Change (1985), Abaqirah min Al-tarikh/ Geniuses in History (1994), The Arab Migrants in Australia, (1989, 1998) and Arabic Heritage League in Australia (1999).
