BiographyHistory

Yosl Birstein has written fiction and poetry. Over a twenty year period he catalogued the archives, at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, of Melech Ravitz, described as the first modern journalist in Yiddish literature. By the mid 1990s he had become one of Israel's most well known writers.
