BiographyHistory

Heather Harvey was a physiotherapist and a freelance writer and reviewer. She was the Arts Writer for the Cairns Post until her sudden death, her last article being published soon after she died, and she also covered the arts for the Cairns Sunday. She contributed material to a number of Australian newspapers, and wrote in the genres of children's fiction, songs, travel/tourism, culture and theatre. The Heather Harvey Memorial Award for an original poem written by a 16-to-18-year-old was established by her husband in her memory.
