Although South Australian, Beach-Webb spent most of her life in Queensland. She published a few short stories in Australia before taking the manuscript of her first novel to England at the end of 1924. The novel was accepted by the first publisher to whom she submitted it, Messrs Ward Lock & Co. While in England she also arranged for her work to be published in two London magazines, then set out to tour Europe, before returning to Queensland in time for Christmas. At that time she was reportedly working on two novels, but no trace of these has been found to date.
