Gwynne , 1907 Melbourne : Lothian , 1908 Z220993 1907 single work drama humour An advocate for the Socialist cause proposes the wool profits be divided equally among the shearers, rouseabouts and other workers who gather at a sheep property during the annual shearing. He does not, however, factor in the farm costs (fences, taxes, interest on the mortgage, etc). The workers revolt when it transpires their share is less than they would normally earn. The pastoralist (who has witnessed proceedings while in disguise) restores the shearers 'old' agreement which was twice the value of the proposed payment under the Socialist system.
