In a biographical note Geoffrey Eggleston wrote for Australian Poetry Now (1970) he stated he'd been educated 'at the royal george hotel sydney/tattersals hotel melbourne by the ghost of harry hooten and various identities whom I owe so much.' He finished the same note by affirming 'poetry will be the language of the new age viva la revolution.' In 1969 Eggleston was living in Melbourne, Victoria.
Eggleston's portrait was painted by Jenni Mitchell.
