Cahalane Jennings was exposed to a wide range of children's literature from an early age. She has contributed to school magazines and written children's verse for the Catholic Education Office's Let's Go Together magazine.
Jennings' poetry has been published in a variety of journals and she has reviewed for the Melbourne Advocate.
