Eunice Wright Foster was born near Hamilton, Victoria. Shortly after her birth her family left the Lake Condah Mission. In 1954 Eunice's mother fell ill with tuberculosis, and with her siblings Eunice was taken to the Ballarat Orphanage where they lived for seven years.
