BiographyHistory

Tasmanian Rhodes scholar Peter Conrad taught English at Christ Church, Oxford until his retirement in 2011. His books other than those listed in AustLit, include Television: The Medium and Its Manners and Modern Times, Modern Places. Conrad has also written a number of works on the arts and literature. In 2008, he published Creation: Artists, Gods and Origins, a book that celebrates art and critiques religion, and in 2011, Verdi and/or Wagner, a book exploring the lives of the two composers.He has been a regular contributor to the Observer. Conrad delivered the 2004 Boyer Lectures.
