— Appears in: The Cairns Post , 20 January 1887; (p. 2)
The correspondent refers to a case against the editor of the Cairns Chronicle, E. C. Draper, and the threats allegedly made by the paper to obtain advertising for a land sale. The letter quotes a telegram he received from the proprietor, W. D. Hobson, stating 'New Cairns not being advertised in Chronicle; recommend you to take this hint immediately. (Signed) W. D. Hobson, August 19, 1886'.
