Mary Napurrula is a writer who has worked at the Summer Institute of Linguistics in Darwin, Northern Territory, adapting English folktales into Warlpiri language readers. Some of her stories include Ngalipa Karlipa yani wirlinyi and her adaptations include Marlu manu tarturlukurlu, an adaptation of 'The Tortoise and the Hare'.
