The year is 1963. Wally Pop is a music producer with his own studio, but no immediate prospects for success on the charts. Wally 'steals' the idea of establishing an all-girl group as a vehicle for marketing merchandise, from Veronica. He enlists the financial help of Sir Ralph, a weapons dealer. His faithful assistant, Jenny, puts The Charades together, but unfortunately Sir Ralph insists that his daughter, Lulu, is to be included in the group. But Lulu can't sing. In the 1960's, and dare we suggest, even now, clever sound engineers, like Gyro, overcame this problem by getting singing groups to mime during concerts.
