BiographyHistory

James Montgomery was a prolific hymn writer. He is probably best remembered for his popular Christmas hymn 'Angels from the Realms of Glory'. Montgomery's poetry was sometimes published in Australian newspapers, including the Monitor, the Australian Town and Country Journal, the Temperance Advocate and Australasian Commercial and Agricultural Intelligencer and the Teetotaller, and General Newspaper.
