Pansy Nulgit was born at Pantijan, a pastoral station in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. As a young child, she walked with her family and their herd of goats to Kunmunya Mission. This journey took them 11 days. Nulgit also lived with the family at the Old Mowanjum Mission site before eventually settling at Mount Barnett Station.
