A Hollywood screenplay based on Dale Collins's novel Ordeal (1924), the narrative develops around a yachting party of rich socialites sailing from Shanghai. When they fall into the hands of a mutineering crew, the party finds itself at the mercy of the ship's insane steward. Lady Daly, one of the socialites is, however, quite indifferent to the whole situation.
