BiographyHistory

Alice Lovett was the daughter of Leonard Charles Lovett who served in both World Wars and the grand-daughter of Hannah Lovett. She married a man named Claude McDonald, a returned serviceman who had been a despatch rider in New Guinea. Their son Mervyn served in Vietnam.

Lovett enlisted in 1942 and was based at Ascot Vale before she left the Air Force in 1943. She began working in the Maribyrnong munitions factory with Mary King, Eileen Watson, and Connie Alberts. Marge Tucker worked across the road in the powder room.
