BiographyHistory

Dianne was the daughter of Mary Phillips who was also known as Possie. She was raised by her Aunty Isobel and Uncle Johnny King who was her mother's brother. Dianne moved to Melbourne and then to Braybook with her mother, her ties to the Koorie community were severed by her stepfather. It wasn't until Dianne was older and had moved out of home at seventeen that she became reacquainted with the Koorie community in Collingwood. Dianne had a daughter named Julie and in the 70's began to work in Aboriginal Health Services.
