They follow a map left by Lasseter and on the way meet Moorara, whose wife has been murdered by the 'Kaiditcha' men. Bill and Moorara travel together to the Rawlinson Ranges and locate Lasseter's Reef, but flee when pursued by the 'Kaiditcha' spirits and the 'Pitchenturras'. Moorara is ailed by bone-pointing and assist in their own rescue by helping a stranded aircraft crew restore their plane for flying.
