Barry Young has written poetry, short stories and western frontier novels. In 2008 he was awarded an Order of Australia for service to the community. He was awarded Albury Citizen of the Year in 2014, and is based in Thurgoona Valley, New South Wales. Barry also co-founded 'River of Stories', a secondary schools short story and poetry competition in Alburby, New South Wales. In 2018, he was guest author at the 'Write Around the Murray' festival.
