Jockey Glen Boss grew up on his family's cattle property at Caboolture, Queensland. He left school at the age of fifteen and moved to Gympie to start his riding apprenticeship. Less than a year later (after riding 60 winners) he moved to the Gold Coast and then, in 1994, to Sydney.
