1 1 y separately published work icon The Bony Bulletin Philip T. Asdell (editor), Frederick : Philip T. Asdell , 1981-1990 Z1370038 1981-1990 periodical (3 issues) Between 1981 and 1990 Mr. Philip T. Asdell published 33 newsletters titled The Bony Bulletin about Arthur W. Upfield and his Australian detective, Napoleon Bonaparte or Bony. The bulletins included some articles written by others, but most of the material was researched and written by Mr. Asdell . One of the features of the bulletins is a 24-part series, 'Bony Was There' which discussed the location of Upfield novels or, in the case of fictitious settings, painstakingly reconstructed their location. Other articles (typically in a series of two to four parts) included women in Upfield's novels, Upfield's use of flora and fauna, Upfield's reference to literature, changes in Bony throughout the novels, and so on. In 2007 Claudia Stone published the complete series of newsletters, together with indexes, introduction (by Philip Asdell) and biography of Upfield, as one volume.
