Description

This course introduces students to the study of literary texts, mainly chosen from the twentieth century to the present. It shows how genre and tradition influence creative literary production, focussing on poetry, narrative fiction and literary non-fiction. Students will become skilled readers, who have an understanding of the way texts work, and how social and cultural contexts shape responses to literature.
