Description

This unit focuses on the function of image in contemporary culture. It encompasses the analysis of images and image-text relationships in a range of contexts: picture books, film, and multimedia texts. It begins with an investigation of theoretical frameworks and moves to application of theory in classroom settings. Students will have the opportunity to focus on one area of visual text that is of particular interest to them and develop a specialisation in that area. This unit is suitable for primary, secondary and post-secondary teachers.
