Dad's Business, Sumner Locke , single work short story humour

A humorous story of life on a far-back selection. The character sketches are realistically drawn. Dad is what is commonly known as 'a good old sort', for under all his fuss and bluster beats a kind heart. We can imagine the satisfaction of the old man when he notes the surprise and pleasure of the family on his return from town on Christmas Day - Sydney Mail, 11 December, 1912.
