Sir Oswald Walters Brierly was a marine painter. He visited Australia in 1867-1868 and, with the Rev'd John Milner, wrote The Cruise of H. M. S. Galatea, Captain H. R. H. the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1867-1868 (1968).
