History
The original category for picture books and books for younger readers, until the two were split into separate categories in 1996 (with the exception of 1998, when the award for Infants/Primary was presented for the last time).
No prize was awarded in this category in 1988: instead, the one-off 'Bicentennial Prize' was awarded to the Complete Adventures of Cuddlepot and Snugglepie.
