Two plays were written with the title Lavater; or, Not a Bad Judge – one by H. C. Coape (c. 1848) and the other by James Robinson Planche (1848). Both were comedies in two acts. AustLit has not yet established which version was produced in Sydney in October 1868, however, it is probable that it was Planche's.
(A play by Planche, with a main character named 'Lavater', was produced under the title Not a Bad Judge in Sydney in February 1868. Not a Bad Judge is very possibly the same play as Lavater; or, Not a Bad Judge.)
Performed at the Prince of Wales Opera House, Sydney, October 1868.
