AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'We have received the first number of the Woodend News, a new weekly paper of independent political news, to be issued every Friday, and intended to circulate in Woodend and the surrounding agricultural districts of Newham, Rochford, Carlsruhe, Hesket, and Macedon. The need of such an organ, it is stated, was conspicuously shown during the recent political difficulties at Newham. The printing and general get up of the paper are admirable, while the reading matter is varied and well-written. The paper is printed and published by Mr. Sidney Gullett, the proprietor.'
