BiographyHistory

Isaac Simmons was an auctioneer in Sydney, New South Wales, active in the 1830s and 1840s in George Street and Hunter Street. In 1836 Simmons erected a row of houses on Hunter Street known as Regent Terrace. In September 1846 Simmons, his wife and six sons and two daughters left for England. The family returned in October 1851. Simmons, or a son, seems to have continued in business as an auctioneer possibly into the 1870s.
