Upfront: History of Film in Australia (AUS290)
Semester 1 / 2009

Description

From Dad and Dave to Kenny, this course explores Australian film within the changing contexts of audience, and industry structure, from the silent to the digital eras. By employing techniques of historical analysis and screen studies, the course aims to give a broad grasp of the way film reflects Australian society and pinpoints just where the Australian movie business fits into the world of cinema. Students will be expected to develop practical techniques, analytical skill and theoretical comprehension over the course.
